U15 PVF won the runner-up in the Internation Challenge Cup 2019

U15 PVF won the runner-up position in the 4th participation of International Challenge Cup 2019 – ICC Cup 2019.

This year’s tournament is divided into 02 groups. PVF is in Group B with 04 other teams: Singapore Sport School – Singapore, Yamaga FC – Japan, Perth United – Australia.

Competition format: Single round robin format. The top two (2) teams in the group will gain automatic qualification for the semi-final stage of competition. The 3rd placed teams in each group will play each other for the 5th and 6th positions. The 4th placed teams will play each other for the 7th and 8th positions placing game.
Game time: from 23 to 29 November.
Venue: Singapore Sport School Stadium, Jalan Besar Stadium.

PVF U15 defeated other teams in the same group and won the slot to the semi-final against Singapore U15. The 2-0 victory brought coach Dinh The Nam and his students to the final match against U15 JDT, Malaysia. The loss 0 -1 to JDT cost U15 PVF losing chance to be the champion of the tournament for the 4th time. However, this is also a commendable achievement of the young players.

Similar to the recent international competitions PVF participated, this time the team will be composed of PVF players and excellent players from other centers and clubs. This will grant the players more opportunities to experience and develop in order to improve the quality of Vietnamese players in general.

Specifically, PVF team attending the 2019 ICC Cup includes PVF players born in 2004, 2 players of Nam Dinh Club, 2 players of Thanh Hoa Club, 3 players of Song Lam Nghe An Club. Coach Dinh The Nam is the head coach and asisstant coach is coach Nguyen Huy Thong.

Every year, besides always participating in all the young tournaments organized by the Vietnam Football Federation, PVF actively participates in regional and international youth tournaments as well so that the players can gain more experience in international competitions.

In 2019, PVF Technical Director has planned for young teams from U14 to U18 of PVF to participate in ADFT tournaments in Thailand, Singapore, Netherlands, Sweden, Japan …
