Opportunities to become international-ranking professional footballer

Promotion Fund for Vietnamese Football Talent (PVF) has just announced their campaign to recruit Vietnamese football talents for Cohort 7. The recruitment campaign will last from March 14 to May 23, 2015, opening opportunities to become professional footballers and providing access to formal, absolute free-of-charge training during 10 years in HCMC for teenagers passionate about football.

 

The recruitment work in 2015 is conducted in 49 cities and provinces across the country at 59 recruitment spots, with an aim to enlist around 120 trainees after the preliminary round. Subjects are male teenagers who were born in 2003, 2004, 2005, and some more born in 2001, 2002 and are fervid about and talented in football and cherish dreams to pursue a professional football career.

Candidates must undergo compulsory tests, including a 30m high-impetus sprint, on-the-spot spring, competing, passing the ball with favorite leg and height measurement.

After conducting the recruitment work at the localities, PVF will pick approximately 120 trainees for intensive training at PVF training center in HCMC within two months under the guidance of professional coaches.In early August 2015, PVF will continue to select 50 outstanding students from the above 120 students for professional training. These 50 students will receive 100% sponsorship regarding clothing, professional training equipment, tools for academic and foreign language studies, necessities and so forth within 10 years atPVF in HCMC.

In charge of training at PVF are a team of professional, elite coaches, who are former star players of the Vietnam football “golden generation.” Alongside the international-standard formal football training curriculum, selected students are also well taken care of regarding nutrition and physical health in a special environment in order to grow into players with the best physique, physical conditioning and health. The boys will also gain access to academic studies at public schools in the full-time educational system in HCMC and extra English classes from admission until graduation. Specially, during their training process, the boys will be taken care of, managed and educated by invigilators and assistant coaches to make sure they will become players with a good sense of discipline, good conduct, high level of education and a sense of national pride upon graduation.

Also in 2015, the first cohort PVF students will for the first time compete at the National U19 and U21 and the Vietnam Football Third Division League with a goal to advance the rank and play at the Vietnam Football Second Division League next year. These students will be transferred to advanced training, expected to compete in 2019. The most outstanding students will be sent by PVF to play on V-League clubs, to garner experience and hone professional skills to grow into professional players.
