Besides funding for the tournament’s organization expense, PVF is also the host of the two finals of the 2020 U15 and U17 National Cup in November and December.
According to the plan, the final round of the U17 National Cup will take place from November 26 to December 10. The final round of the U15 National Cup Championship will take place from December 16 to December 28.
In 2020, in addition to the usual system of national youth tournaments, young players will have 2 additional tournaments, the U15 & U17 National Cup. This change gives young players more opportunities to compete through domestic tournaments. It is a part of the agreement between Vingroup (through PVF) and the Vietnam Football Federation – VFF signed on October 21, 2019. Detail of the cooperation includes: support to international training of national teams; organize to have more matches for youth football league to ensure a longer tournament time of the year as to serve the development of young players more effectively. PVF will also coordinate with VFF to support the development of local youth football to build a system of youth training in some provinces and cities to have a more synchronized and modern training methods.
Besides the main players of the PVF U17 team that have just attended the 2020 National U17 Championship and the 2020 V.league 4, some key players of PVF U15 who won the 2020 National U15 Championship will join in the PVF U17 squad for the Cup.
There are 16 teams participating in the 2020 National U17 Cup. Group A includes Viettel, CAND, Ha Noi and Than Quang Ninh. Group B includes HAGL, Nutifood Academy, Kon Tum and SHB Da Nang. Group C includes Binh Duong, Dong Nai, Hallmen Ho Chi Minh City and Tay Ninh. Group D includes Ho Chi Minh City, An Giang, Long An and Sai Gon.
11 teams that pass the qualifier will participate in the final round with PVF including: Group A: Hanoi, Viettel; Group B: Nutifood, HAGL, Da Nang; Group C: Binh Duong, Hallmen HCMC, Tay Ninh; Group D: Sai Gon, Long An, HCMC.
For the U15 National Cup 2020, there are 13 teams divided into 03 groups. Group A: Hanoi, Dong Thap, Hai Nam Vinh Phuc, PVF, Viettel; Group B: Dak Lak, HAGL, Khanh Hoa, SHB Da Nang; Group C: An Giang, Ba Ria Vung Tau, Dong Nai, Ho Chi Minh City. The 7 qualifying teams with the host PVF will be divided into 2 groups (A and B) to compete in the final round.
PVF U15 participates in the 2020 National U15 Cup qualifier. Many key players of coach Nguyen Duy Dong who have just won the 2020 National U15 Championship were not registered to compete. Instead, it is a chance for players of the 2005 and 2006 age group of PVF who did not play regularly to express themselves. And also PVF executives will observe and evaluate these players.
