U15 PVF finished 8th out of 24 teams in Rotterdam Cup 2019

U15 PVF recently participated in a hugely popular youth football tournament Rotterdam 2019. Taking place in the second–largest city of the Netherlands from April 20–22, the tournament comprises of 24 U15 teams from around the world including Atlético Madrid, Tottenham Hotspur, RB Leipzig, AZ Alkmaar, etc.

U15 PVF had a strong start with an unbeaten run in the first 4 matches: 1-0 against U15 Ilves FC, 1-1 against Tatran Presov, 2-0 against U15 SBV Excelsior and 1-0 against U15 Orlando Pirates. In the next match against U15 Atlético Madrid, the team that eventually became the champions of Rotterdam Cup 2019, the Spanish side turned out to be the more effective team with solid defence, which resulted in a 1-0 win over a hard fighting PVF team that never gave up. Our team finished at 8th position out of 24 participating teams after the losses in the last 2 matches against AZ Alkmaar and Crossfire Premier.

Rotterdam Cup 2019 has provided young players from PVF the opportunities to compete against strong teams and gain exposure to different styles of play and systems as well as the valuable experience of a playing in a competition setting.

At the closing ceremony, U15 PVF has received “Fair Play” award from the tournament organizers, marking an unforgetable international trip for our young players.
