30/09/2020Within about 20 minutes of the match between Viettel – Saigon FC, a record of the V-League 2020 season was established.
Vo Nguyen Hoang was born in 2002 and grew up in PVF. He was loaned by Saigon FC for the second phase of this V-league 2020 season. The player is appreciated for his physical condition, his ability to press, his not-hesitate-to-contact playing style and his good activity in hot spots.
As Saigon is having a good set of foreign strikers, Geovane and Pedro Paulo, Nguyen Hoang doesn’t have a lot of chances to participate in the starting XI. However, the turning point occurred when Pedro Paulo injured his muscle in the Viettel-Saigon FC match and was unable to continue playing.
Nguyen Hoang was asked to warm up and to replace the Brazilian player. After the break, the young striker was allowed to play and become the youngest player to play in this V-League season, before Phi Hoang (Da Nang) broke this record in the match at the same time.
In 45 minutes on the field, Nguyen Hoang impressed with his ability to assist and his efforts to gain the ball, although in the end Saigon FC lost and broke 11 unbeaten matches.
After the game, coach Vu Tien Thanh commented that the young Dong Thap’s striker performance was “not bad at the age of 18”, “if he continues to play like that, he will have a bright future” and “we are happy about it”.
